The members of the Free Trade League are supporters of Free Trade for Britain and Northern Ireland.. Some are members or supporters of the Conservative or Labour parties: others are independent or even supporters of the Liberal Democrats in spite of that party's most fervent allegiance to the European Union. They will argue that by being in, the Liberal Democrats can change European policy in spite of the doctrine of acquis communautaire, the accumulated laws and regulations of the European Union.
